Brent sweet crude traded at close to $93.00 today and the float is expected to continue to rise. Likewise the Iraq Dinar is expected to rise in value February 9th, immediately following the announcement from the United Nations, that Iraq is justifiably qualified and certified international-trade-ready.
According to their Constitution, Presidents must be elected and seated by February 9th, and without fail this will be done. The Sadrists have protested Maliki’s departure, but will be participating according to the Constitutional requirements.
Iraq has this tightly in control.
The Dinar’s International (starting) rate will be $3.20 and float up along with the price of a barrel of oil, till it reaches $120.00. At which time we’re told the rate will be maintained at $3.20 US.

Al-Abadi: The presidents and the ministers can continue until the next elections

Legal expert Ahmed Al-Abadi revealed that if Parliament fails to pass the President of the Republic, the current president will continue his duties normally, until the next elections are held after 4 years.
He added that this applies to the government as well, as it can continue its duties as a caretaker until the next 4 years, meaning that the republican and government presidencies may continue in the current situation until the election of replacements. LINK

A legal expert warned the House of Representatives against entering into a constitutional violation by not holding its scheduled session today, Monday, as it is the last day in the constitutional period for electing a president of the republic.
Haider al-Sufi told {Euphrates News}: “Parliament will enter into a constitutional violation and a violation of the constitution by not electing the president of the republic within 30 days from the date of the first session, and therefore this responsibility will be before the Federal Supreme Court, which is competent to accept or refuse to challenge any measure taken by the legislative and executive authorities.”
He pointed out that “the House of Representatives by its procedures not to elect the president of the republic within 30 days and exceeding this period as a violation of the constitution, the Federal Court has the right to accept the appeal from political or parliamentary blocs, civil society organizations or the attorney general, and Parliament rules that the president of the republic must be quickly elected.” And he stated, “The current president of the republic remains a caretaker in all cases until he takes over the new president.”
Al-Sufi pointed out that “the door for nomination for the position of President of the Republic can be opened, and this procedure is within the competence of the Presidency of the House of Representatives when requests come to it from people,” pointing out that “opening and closing the door for nomination for the Presidency of the Republic is not stipulated in the constitution or specified for a specific period, and this remains within the authority of the Authority. The House of Representatives postponed its scheduled meeting on Monday by half an hour. The Council included in the agenda of its meeting today, the paragraph of choosing a president of the Republic of Iraq, and set 12 noon as a date for its convening, but it was postponed for half an hour.
