The State of Law coalition revealed, today, Monday, the president-led conversations to resolve the candidate for prime minister.
The coalition deputy, Abboud Al-Issawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, is conducting several dialogues to resolve the candidate of the next government,” noting that “in front of President Saleh’s table three candidates are Ali Shukri, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi and Mustafa Al-Kazemi.”
He added that the candidate names are subject to change, explaining that “Ali Shukri is the closest of the three candidates to the presidency of the government.”
In the same context, sources in the Presidency of the Republic revealed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that President Saleh is likely to assign a consensual candidate within the next 24 hours. ”
Earlier, the Parliamentary Wisdom Bloc revealed three names of a candidate for prime minister to the President of the Republic.
“The current week will witness the selection of a candidate for prime minister,” Deputy Bloc of Al-Hikma Hassan Khalati told the Iraqi News Agency (conscious), noting that “the president of the republic has three names on the table that are not counted on a certain party and they have contact with all parties and with the political and mass powers.”
Khallati indicated that “there is consensus on the names proposed by the political blocs”, stressing that “the Iraqi arena has become more confident in naming the candidate.”
He added that “the new government will prepare the ground for early elections.”
