The Sadr movement, led by Muqtada al-Sadr, commented on assigning the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to the head of the Iraqi Intelligence Service, Mustafa al-Kazimi, to form the new government.
“The Sadrist movement is with the national consensus, and it is with this mandate, the fact that – Al-Kazemi – receives support from all political forces, with all its components,” said the leader of the current, Governor of Zamili, in a statement followed by the agency, Ayna, on Thursday.
He added, “The Sadrist movement will support and vote for the Al-Kazemi government, if it provides competent and honest personalities, and we will refuse to pass any character on it with any indications.”
On Thursday, Iraqi President Barham Salih assigned the head of the Intelligence Agency, Mustafa al-Kazemi, to form the new Iraqi government, after Adnan al-Zorfi announced he was stepping down from this task.
