Planning: The Poverty Rate In Iraq Is 25%

“The poverty rate in Iraq amounted to 25% of the total population in 2022,” said the ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, in a statement to the official news agency, pointing out that “this percentage increased compared to the years 2019 and 2020, when the percentage did not exceed 20%.”

“He added, “The high poverty rate is due to several reasons, including the repercussions of the Corona pandemic during 2020 and 2021 and the cessation of economic activities, in addition to the economic crisis as a result of lowering oil prices and stopping projects,” noting that “there are preparations in the Central Statistical Organization of the Ministry to start implementing the survey.” The economic and social family in Iraq.

He pointed out that “this strategy will take into account the reality of the vulnerable and poor groups in society and provide them with the requirements of living in the basic areas of health, housing, education and income improvement,” stressing that “the preparation of the strategy will be shared by a number of government agencies, the private sector and some specialized international companies.”

He pointed out that “the government has taken a number of measures to support the vulnerable and the poor with regard to the level of income, which was represented by raising the salaries of those covered by social care and increasing the coverage capacity of poor families, in addition to improving the ration card, organizing its distribution on a monthly basis, and adding new foodstuffs to it,” adding that “the procedures It also included the field of health to empower the poor through health insurance, as these measures will have a positive impact on the vulnerable and the poor.”

Iraq’s US Oil Exports Rose Within A Week

And she added, “Iraq’s oil exports to America amounted to an average of 354 thousand barrels per day last week, up from the previous week, in which oil exports to America amounted to an average of 289 thousand barrels per day.

And the administration continued, “The most oil revenues for America during the past week came from Canada at a rate of 2.949 million barrels per day, and Saudi Arabia came at a rate of 479 thousand barrels per day, and oil revenues from Mexico amounted to an average of 428 thousand barrels per day, and then Colombia at a rate of 357 thousand barrels per day.” .

And she indicated, “The amount of US imports of crude oil from Brazil amounted to an average of 219 thousand barrels per day, and from Nigeria at a rate of 141 thousand barrels per day, and from Libya an average of 90 thousand barrels per day and from Ecuador at an average of 87 thousand barrels per day, while Russia did not import any quantity.”
